Sparks, Nevada– Leading2Lean leadership announced that they stand 100% behind the manufacturing industry by urging students in Michigan and Washington to apply for the inaugural Leading2Lean Manufacturing Scholarship Fund. Amidst concerns about the lack of qualified workers entering the American manufacturing industry, Leading2Lean intends to help provide a solution. Leading2Lean is the creator of CloudDISPATCH, a Lean Execution System software technology encouraging transparency and efficiency for manufacturers across the globe.
“We want to encourage future generations to become a part of the evolving manufacturing industry,” says Keith Barr, CEO and President of Leading2Lean. “There is a large disconnect between the perception and reality of manufacturing, especially in regard to technology. While robotics and AI are integral in manufacturing, it’s technically-skilled humans that are in high demand for over 400,000 vacant high paying manufacturing jobs, right now.”
Leading2Lean’s Manufacturing Scholarship Fund will be offering a total of four (4) scholarships to students enrolled in technical programs who are working towards employment in the manufacturing industry. The scholarships are being offered to students across the state of Michigan, as well as students enrolled at Lake Washington Institute of Technology in Kirkland, Washington.
“Leading2Lean is committed to supporting the advancement of manufacturing in the U.S.,” says Barr. “To us, that means investing in the next generation of manufacturing innovators and developing an industry-wide culture of improvement and excellence.”
Two $1,250 scholarships will be given to students attending school in Michigan, and two $1,250 scholarships will be given to students attending the Lake Washington Institute of Technology. Eligible students are those pursuing higher education in any manufacturing function or skill.
Interested applicants can learn more about the fund and submit an application through their school’s scholarship office. Students who apply must be able to present proof of school enrollment. Applications are now being accepted, and the application period will conclude at 9:00 p.m. PST on September 26, 2018. Leading2Lean has long been intent on promoting worker engagement as a key driver of plant efficiency and KPI improvement. Manufacturers face complex challenges and utilize cutting edge technology to find solutions, and Leading2Lean seeks to motivate and inform future workers of the meaningful career opportunities they have when humans and technology work together for the best outcome.
