Bystronic Inc. held an official groundbreaking ceremony for its new North American headquarters in Hoffmann Estates, Ill., on Sept. 18. The new 162,875-sq.ft. facility will be located seven miles east of its current U.S. headquarters in Elgin, Ill., and will include the company’s first North American manufacturing operation. Bystronic’s corporate headquarters are in Switzerland.
In addition to office space and a new manufacturing operation, the building will include a new Bystronic Experience Center, which will feature an advanced showroom. At the Experience Center, visitors can experience Bystronic innovations with a range of sheet metal processing solutions, including the latest technologies for laser cutting, integrated automation and storage solutions, flexible bending systems, tube and profile processing solutions, software for the sheet metal processing chain and smart services with customized demonstrations. Bystronic will demonstrate how sheet metal products are manufactured in the age of advanced automation, digital networking, and intelligent services.
The new facility’s machine assembly area for laser and automation systems will create new manufacturing jobs. The Experience Center will serve as the new hub for Bystronic U.S. business operations; including sales, service, spare parts and the refurbishing of used machines.
The new facility will be completed by the summer of 2019. Until then, Bystronic will continue to operate from its Elgin, Ill., facility.
