Engineering and manufacturing positions are on staffing company Randstad US’s “Hot Jobs” list for 2015.
Electrical, mechanical and quality engineers are in demand, Randstad said in a statement. On the manufacturing side, forklift operators, quality control technicians and production supervisors are being sought by employers.
Jay Rogers, a vice president at Randstad, said he has a nephew who’s ready to graduate from Georgia Tech. “He already has a couple of offers and he really hasn’t started looking yet,” Rogers said in an interview.
“Talent is king this year,” he said. “It should be a good year for engineers to look for jobs.”
The increased demand for engineers and manufacturing workers reflects an improving economy generally as well as expansion in industries such as automotive and steel, Rogers said. Randstad said in its statement there’s a growing demand for employees related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
“It’s tougher on recruiters and clients to find candidates,” Rogers said.
Other “Hot Jobs” categories include health care, health, finance and accounting, information technology, pharmaceuticals and human resources, Randstad said.
Randstad US is a unit of Randstad Holding NV, a provider of human resources services.
